Review: Vita Liberata 2-3 Week Tan Mousse

I recently received this deluxe sample of the Vita Liberata 2-3 Week Tan Mousse with a Sephora order that I made online and thought it sounded like the perfect product to help with my fading tan now that Summer is over and Fall is already here!
The sample came in a 0.84 fluid oz bottle and has around three to four uses in it.  It also came with a tiny tanning mitt which I greatly appreciated as it helps tanning products to not streak when you apply it.  I was immediately so excited about this product because it claims to last 2-3 weeks!  It was like a dream come true to me because I hate self-tanning, but I love the results.
I decided to test this out just on my legs first in case something went terribly wrong, so, I showered, shaved, and exfoliated, and was ready for tanning.  I pumped some out and first noticed its interesting texture, very light and mousse-like.  I also noticed that it was a very scary looking very dark brown color when I put it on my skin.  Luckily it blended out when I rubbed it in.

It was a little bit difficult to blend in, even with the tanning mitt and I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to get rid of all of the streaks before it dried.  It was also not instant and didn't really show up very well on my skin when it was blended in, which made it difficult to see where I had and hadn't tanned yet.  I was super excited because when I was applying the mousse it didn't have that icky self-tan smell that I hate so much.  However, this excitement was short-lived because in a couple hours after the tan had time to set it smelled... bad.  When the color had set for about six hours I saw the final result and I really liked the color, not orange at all, and really natural looking.

My biggest disappointment with this product is that it lasted about one week.  That's right ONE.   My biggest draw to this product was that it claimed to be the longest lasting self-tan and it lasted about as long as my L'Oreal Sublime Bronze that I usually use.
Overall,  I would not recommend purchasing the full size of this product for $54.00.  Although it was a great color there are drugstore products that work about the same for a lot less money.  If you're looking for a more high end product I've read great reviews about the St. Tropez line that you can also purchase at Sephora.
