Review: Maybelline the Rocket Mascara

So I recently gave into the hype and bought Maybelline's The Rocket mascara.  People have been raving about this product all over the place so I felt that I had to try it out for myself.  

     I accidentally bought this in "brownish black" instead of just black like I normally do but I have to say that it really doesn't make any difference; it still looks very black on my lashes.  The packaging of this product is nice and makes the wand easy to hold and apply.

     I thought that the wand for this product was very stiff.  Maybelline mascara wands usually have a rubber piece at the base so that the wand can wiggle and move around to get all of your lashes.  The Rocket's wand does not have this so it makes it a little harder to apply.  Also the actual bristles on this wand are very stiff and they will hurt if you get them in your eye!

     I do have to say that this mascara does do a great job at both lengthening and volumizing your lashes!  It does tend to clump a little bit on your lases but it isn't terrible.

     My main issue with this mascara is that it is so hard to take off!  I don't buy waterproof mascaras because they are such a pain in the neck to take off and I never have a problem with mascara running.  So, when I purchased this I made sure not to get the waterproof formula, however, the normal formula took as much work as a waterproof mascara to get off.  You definitely need an eye makeup remover to get this mascara off.

    Overall, this is not may favorite mascara; I prefer the Falsies mascara from Maybelline.  I might repurchase this just because it does make your lashes look really nice, but I would definitely purchase the Falsies mascara, or the One by One mascara from Maybelline before I bought the Rocket!
